Edifier W200BT SE: Just What You NeedTime: Mar. 10, 2020
Edifier is known for its affordable audio products, which include speakers and, more recently, Bluetooth wireless headphones. While we were used to the idea that Chinese products are affordable and easy to use, while affecting quality, the Edifier W200BT SE tells a slightly different story, in which you can have all three in one way or another.
With a name almost similar to Edifier W200BT, the W200BT SE is very different. The SE means "Special Edition", but the exact difference is that the SE has a flexible cable clamp, while the standard W200BT has a solid neck strap.
The W200BT SE has the latest version of Bluetooth, Bluetooth 5.0.
The SE would also have an IPX5 water resistance. IPX5 means that the helmet can easily absorb the water jet. Perfect for sports headphones that treat sweat and light rinses.
Improve the quality and appearance
The W200BT SE is available in 4 colors: black, red, white and gray. The unit I received was available in black. The appearance has a simple, clean and matte black finish, with the cable extending from the headset to the remote control, to the battery holder and then to the other headset. While the remote control and battery holder are matt black, the headphones are bright black. Silicon is cheaper at the expense. It is not as firm as the more expensive silicone earplugs, and the powder adheres easily. The charging port is located on the side of the handset's remote control.
There is not much to say when using the W200BT SE. It looks very subtle in the ear. It doesn't ask for attention like normal sports headphones. The general aspect, however, brings a different narrative. While using it, it seems that you are wearing 2 rectangular earrings that hang because the remote control and the battery compartment are a few inches from the headphones.
The battery life of the W200BT SE is not that long compared to other headphones of this age. The SE takes about 7 hours, enough for most commercial flights. The charging process takes approximately 1.5 hours. During the charging process, the remote control LED lights bright red and goes out when the charging process is complete.
During a call, the voice can be overwhelming due to the high level bass. In combination with sound insulation, this is not pleasant. The SE exudes a very suffocating mood during the call. It's like talking in a vacuum sealed bag.
What are headphones for if you can't use them for a long time? The W200BT SE installs comfortably in the ear and around the neck for approximately 1.5 hours. After that, the ear begins the pain. Silicone earplugs are quite firm, which increases pain. When you're not using the headphones, you can simply hang them around your neck and they won't fall off, as long as it doesn't run. It is really well balanced if it hangs from the neck like a remote control and the battery weight is distributed evenly so that one side is not heavier than the other. However, if you choose to place the headset on one ear and leave the other ear free to hear your surroundings, the free side of the headset will fall, but not easily, to remove it from your ear. In general, it is a very comfortable helmet that you can wear anywhere.
