McAfee Total Protection VS Norton Security PremiumTime: Mar. 30, 2020
Do you always have a question to ask yourself, when should I buy antivirus software for your windows pc: Norton or McAfee? In order to answer this question, let's take a look at the following article. This article compares the two software in detail for everyone, let's take a look.
McAfee & Norton: App design
McAfee has opted for a design with a left rail for navigation and an additional menu at the top of the window. In the main part of the window, you can access most of the functions and display information about the security status of your PC. Overall, it's a pretty good design, but McAfee's tendency to divide options between the main window and the left rail can be a bit confusing.
Norton Security Premium has five panels that you can touch or click to see the options for each panel. It is a very simple application to navigate without real confusion.
McAfee & Norton: Performance
Norton passed the PC Mark 8 test very well based on our latest test, but McAfee did not. McAfee failed the parking brake test as well as Norton.
McAfee & Norton: Price
Norton Security Premium costs $50 the first year at a regular price of $110 and covers 10 devices. McAfee Total Protection is cheaper for new users at $ 45 per year and costs up to 10 devices at the same regular price of $110.
McAfee & Norton: Extra features
In addition to basic security checks and online monitoring, Norton Security Premium offers a 25GB cloud backup, password manager, disk optimizer, file cleanup, and boot manager.
McAfee Total Protection has the True Key password and identity manager, but only for five of its 10 devices, Live Safe file encryption, destroyer, and a third-party app update manager. Some of these features are additional downloads.
McAfee & Norton: Conclusion
No wonder, but our first choice is Norton Security Premium. McAfee has additional features that can be recommended and the protection levels are very good. However, with the quality of the desktop application, additional functionality, protection and performance, Norton is our winner in this close confrontation.
